The AMPLIFI series, a collaboration between The Queen's Hall and We Are Here Scotland, has established itself as a vital platform for showcasing the sounds of modern Scotland. The series was recently recognised with the Creative Edinburgh 'Inclusion' Award for its work in amplifying new and rising artists in an intimate setting designed to put them centre stage. Early funding was given by Creative Scotland, who are now supporting AMPLIFI shows in The Queen's Hall's main auditorium, with on-going support from the City of Edinburgh Council for curation and mentoring.
-
As part of the AMPLIFI Pathways Mentorship Programme, the successful mentee will receive 10 hours of therapeutic support of their choice. This can include holistic therapies, talking therapies, or other wellbeing approaches that best suit the individual's needs.
This support is provided through Creative Balance, a research project under We Are Here Scotland exploring mental health and wellbeing, and what improvements can be made for Black People and People of Colour in the Scottish creative industries.
Creative Balance intends to be the first of an ongoing exploration into the mental health and wellbeing of Black and People of Colour creatives in Scotland. The project recognises the unique challenges and additional layers of stress often experienced by Black and Global Majority individuals working in the creative industries and aims to provide meaningful support while gathering insights to improve conditions in the sector.
