We Are Here Scotland is thrilled to announce our upcoming Creators' Showcase, a dynamic celebration taking place at Assembly Roxy Edinburgh on March 29th, 2025. This landmark event brings together recipients of our Creators' Fund initiatives alongside established Scottish creative professionals, demonstrating the depth and diversity of Black and Global Majority talent across Scotland's creative landscape.

Since launching our first Creators' Fund as a community GoFundMe campaign in November 2020, we've supported 29 artists through our funding programs. This showcase represents a significant milestone in our journey, featuring works and performances from both our funded artists and established creative professionals who are making waves in Scotland's cultural scene.

The day-long event will transform Assembly Roxy into a vibrant creative hub featuring an extraordinary lineup of talent. Visual art takes center stage with Scottish Jamaican artist Kezia Lewis's distinctive collage works and South African artist Thulani Rachia's moving image and sound installations. Cultural artist Iffat Ahmad will present contemporary jewelry pieces that beautifully blend traditional South Asian craftsmanship with modern design.

Live performances include "I Hear You," an innovative integration of dance, BSL, and live music by Salma Francoise Faraji, and powerful spoken word poetry from Cape Town native Inga Dale. The musical program features an energetic set by award-winning artist Fifidiny and a DJ set by renowned music writer Arusa Qureshi. Adding to the diverse program, rising comedian Ayo Adenekan will perform, Aarti Joshi will host a live podcast recording, and filmmaker Shanine Gallagher will present her documentary "No Single Track," followed by an engaging Q&A session.

"As a grassroots led organisation, we are pleased that we are able to provide a platform for our community that celebrates their work, & achievements which they'll be sharing through film, design, visual art, and live performances."

The showcase celebration will be complemented by authentic Lebanese cuisine from Lazeez Street Food, creating a comprehensive cultural experience for all attendees.

This event, supported by The National Lottery through Creative Scotland, represents more than just a showcase – it's a testament to the vibrant, diverse creative community we're building in Scotland and a clear demonstration of the impact of our funding initiatives in nurturing and amplifying Black and Global Majority creative voices.
