Research Assistant Position Launched: First Phase of Mental Health Research

Creative Balance is excited to announce the launch of our Research Assistant position, marking the first phase of our research into mental health and wellbeing in Scotland's BPOC creative spaces.

Building on insights from our steering group and case studies, this research will explore how BPOC-led creative spaces function as protective factors for mental health within Scotland's creative sector. The work will contribute to evidence-based policy recommendations and frameworks for developing mental health-supportive environments.

Our Research Assistant will play a key role in conducting interviews, facilitating focus groups, and engaging with BPOC creatives across Scotland. The position has been specifically designed for Black people and People of Colour, offering flexible working arrangements and therapeutic support from BPOC practitioners.

This research phase has been made possible through support from We Are Here Scotland, Engender, Creative Scotland, and The Baring Foundation. Applications are open until 5pm, 29th November 2024, with the role commencing in January 2025.
